The other day both our little car and our midsized SUV had to be filled up at the pump. We easily spent over $100!
Remember a few months ago when everyone was talking about oil hitting $100/barrel, as of yesterday it was $118. This march upward is making me scope out every gas station for the cheapest price, combine trips and consider taking the car instead of the more comfortable SUV on an upcoming road trip.
Gas prices now combined with the rising cost of food is sure to be hitting your budgets. What are you doing to compensate for these added expenses? There has to be more we all can do, give us your ideas - even the most simple - and I'm sure they will be financially appreciated.

Here's a great website to help on groceries:

I don't use it as much as I should, but under the state sections there are message boards with way smarter people than me watching the ads. They go through everything in the ad and rate the items on how good the deals are. While the deals are good, buy a few extra and stock up! My aunt does this a lot. She said she there isn't much of a difference right off, but after doing it for 5-6 months she was whacking $500/month off their grocery bill - and that's from an already careful spender, mom of 8 kids.
I did a post about doing 24 meals in one night, they feed 5-6 people and it costs about 115 dollars. I have my husband and I, my 3 kids to feed, we usually end up with leftovers for lunch the next day and they save time and also help with the question: "What am I going to make for dinner tonight?" (for whenever you ask your husband the question "What do you want for dinner?" you usually get an "I don't care" "I don't know" "What is there" "Whatever", so we label lasagna as Whatever... hee hee) anyhow,if any of you want the format, recipes, and shopping list, let me know. It is in the format to do it with 6 other women and is GREAT! So, that's a way that I save money, and plus they are easy enough that when you don't feel like cooking, you can save on the take out bill as well. =0)
