I am going to go ahead and make the assumption that most of you that read this blog voted for Romney, since the majority of Utahns voted for him. Now he's out, what are you thoughts on your remaining choices?
Will you vote for McCain? What if Huckabee is his running mate? We know that McCain called some of his supporters in the South and asked them to vote for Huckabee, marginalizing Romney. Does this effect your opinion? Or will you, as McCain's mother said you would, "hold your nose and vote for McCain"?
If you are LDS does this leave you feeling disenchanted with the Republican Party? Again and again we have heard this election that while we all know better than to make disparaging remarks about a Black president, or a woman one, it's been somehow okay to make Mormon's the punch line. It was Republicans who eliminated Romney, people of faith that voted against him.
Would any of you consider voting for Obama or Clinton now? Or even a third party candidate?
Let's hear your thoughts. Who now?

OK, let me add this. I am not thrilled with either republican candidate. I think that voting between Huckabee and McCain is like voting to fall off the roof or fall down the stairs. I don't dabble or have time to read a lot about the candidates but I don't really like the idea that Clinton or Obama are for modifying our healthcare system to the "single payer" medical system. I know that our healthcare system has it's flaws, but what doesn't!!! My sister went on her mission to Canada and she was concerned about having to go to the doctor, not because of the price, but for the quality of the doctors. There is a mini youtube thing out now if you want to check it out. http://www.freemarketcure.com/brainsurgery.php
Anyhow, Karen my question now is.... WHO NOW????!!!!??? For me it's like taking a flying leap into never neverland... might as well be Captain Hook. Gotta do a bit more research on which candidate is the right candidate for me and my family.
I'm a little unsure. While I do think that McCain is less liberal than Obama or Clinton, it all depends on his running mate. If he chooses Huckabee, no way will I vote for him because I really don't like Huckabee or the way he has treated the LDS church. I almost feel like I have no choice left, you either choose one liberal or another. I know not voting is not a good option but the thought has seriously crossed my mind because I feel as though there isn't a canidate left that represents my values. I also am a little upset with the Republican party and feel a little let down, it has proved that there is a religious litmus test and LDS is not welcome to take office, we'll just take your vote and money.
Don't be fooled by the misguiding media. McCain is no Rommney but he is much better than Obama or Hillary. No vote is the worse choice of all of them. study and decide and VOTE!
As much as I dislike Huckabee and, to a lesser extent, McCain, I believe I would vote Republican instead of voting for Obama. I do like Obama's style, but I am concerned that having a Democratic president during a time when we are likely to have several Supreme Court appointees will lead to many more liberals legislating from the bench in the Supreme Court.
I guess we'll see what the independent candidates look like. If my vote for presidential candidates won't likely count, I would rather vote my conscience.
Besides, I believe that it is the local elections, not the presidential, that affect our lives the most. It surprises me that people do a lot of research on the presidential candidates and have no clue who is running for the local city council.
